Mersuka Dopazo was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1971. She studied law at the University, yet her natural vocation and aptitude for sketching and painting eventually led her to leave the courtroom behind and enter the world of art.
These works clearly show the influence of the artist’s years of experimentation, ranging from Cezanne’s post-impressionism to the techniques of pure abstractionism with a preference for larger formats and use of a wide assortment of materials. The artist works with natural materials like leaves, sand, burlap or paper. All of her works characteristically show great originality and lyricism. Her creations also include a series of figurative works, like seascapes or portraits, where she displays a harmonious combination of sinuous brushstroke.

"Art and painting are bridges between the creator's heart and the viewer's soul, where colors and brushstrokes breathe life into emotions that transcend time."
